    The National Pension Fund is a reserve fund remaining after deducting expenses for pension benefits and operating expenses from revenues earned from pension contributions and investment income. The Fund was valued at about KRW 527.9 billion at the end of 1988 when the National Pension Plan was introduced, and now has grown to one of the world’s largest pension funds with KRW 1,227.5 trillion in assets under management as of Feb. 28, 2025.
